Cases reported by staff of conditions such as anxiety and depression have increased in the workforce. Organizations have a responsibility to be conscious of the well-being of their employees. Also, the knowledge and talent an employee can provide to an organization is extremely valuable; attracting and retaining top talent can help to create a competitive advantage for an organization in their industry market. This research can be used by human resources professional to develop initiatives and strategies based on the findings. These strategies that may be developed after this research can focus on the employee's’ well-being, and attracting and retaining employees. The contributions made through this research can help to develop strategies that will increase job performance, functionality, attendance, job satisfaction, and engagement by understanding the factors in the workforce that can be improved on to decrease the level of anxiety among employees. Also, this research can serve as a contribution to the field that could lead to further research. I will gather primary data through an anonymous survey utilizing frequency counts.

My problem statement asks, what are causes of work related anxieties? What effect could work related anxieties have on such topics as an employee’s health, job performance, functionality, attendance, engagement, and job satisfaction? How can organizations strategize to promote and maintain a healthy work environment for their employees, and what benefits can be gained for the employees and organizations in doing so?    Â
