Communication is, at best, an imperfect form of expression. There is so much more to what you say than the words that you use. Inflection and body language play a major role in how your message is conveyed. So too does the environment in which you have the conversation. Review the information in the case study titled, “Why Are We Losing All Our Good People?”, and reflect on the role communication plays in creating a positive work environment. • As a manager, how can you ensure that effective lines of communication are open at all levels of your organizations? How can you identify problem areas?
• What special steps should you take to ensure strong communications in a virtual environment? What particular considerations would need to be given to communication among team members?
