What we did about the project

A multimedia text is the use of computers to present text, graphics, video, animation, and sound in an integrated way.

 

 

 

Project Description:

 

Working in groups, you will compose a multimedia text—a movie, a web page, a hypertext document, anything that incorporates writing and other media—on any topic around the theme “American values and stereotypes in American media.” You will draw on your own collective digital expertise, and will spend time building on those skills.

 

You will choose and weave images, sound/music, and/or video to create an argumentative multimodal text.

 

As you design and plan your multimodal text, you will complete a sequence of short writing/designing tasks to help you think about your argument, purpose, and audience. These tasks are intended to help you create a thoughtful text.

 

After finishing composing, revising, and editing your multimodal project, you will give a short (10 minutes), in-class presentation to show your text, discuss your argument, and reflect over the assignment.

 

 

 

Requirements for MMT:

 

A title screen

A rhetorically designed text that combines different modes of communication (images, voiceover, sound, etc.).

A clear and strong argument that the audience can follow without reading your written script.

Your text has an introduction, body, and a conclusion.
