I attached the description and an example of a different company. I want you to write about Harley Davidson in Milwaukee and India. Let me know if you have any question.
PART 2: Company Analysis (due on Nov 22 [Tuesday]) For the second part of the project you have to identify three different Wisconsin-based companies that do business in or with your assigned country. The objective is to get a feeling of how different companies are doing business in your assigned country. The companies you are looking for are engaged in some form of international business, such as: exporting, establishing foreign production plants or other direct investments, having formed a joint-venture with a foreign company or sourcing. You have to find three different companies that fit the bill. Of those three companies two need to be Small and Medium-sized companies (SMEs, which we define as companies with less than 500 employees). Provide the following information for each company: • Brief description of company (employees, location) • Brief description of its products or services • Industry: Identification of “who” buys these products or services • Entry strategy: Exporting, FDI etc (as mentioned above) • If possible: Since when? • WHY (either based on facts or an educated guess from what you found out in your country analysis) your assigned country is a possible market for the company • And finally: State why or why not your group thinks this company might be interesting to work for in the future • The length of the second paper should be between 8-10 pages. The question is HOW you are going to obtain this information, and there are different ways to proceed. 3 One first step is to contact the American Chamber of Commerce in your assigned country. Write them a professional email and explain what you need to do, asking them if they can assist you. They might help you – they might not. In any case, this is a good start. Then try to find other sources that might help you identify these companies: Some useful websites include: http://wisconsinexporters.com http://datcp.wi.gov/Business/Exports/Export_Statistics/?AspxAutoDetectCooki eSupport=1 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Companies_based_in_Wisconsin http://inwisconsin.com/exporting/
