Need Help! - Some other tutor had picked the below question and I have attached the response he sent. The sentences don't flow well. can you please look into this. Thank you.

Virtual Team Work:

Assessment 4 – IT-FP3006 -

  • Write 4–5 pages(not including cover page or references) in which you develop a plan for organizing and leading a virtual team. The virtual team has become an important element in the business world today. Yet, there is a great deal of difference between working virtually with others and truly collaborating. Truly effective collaboration can be difficult to achieve. Even when virtual team members are all from the same company, they may be strangers to each other, have different cultural and professional backgrounds, and come to a team project with different objectives.Show LessBy successfully completing this assessment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the following course competencies and assessment criteria:
    • Competency 1: Communicate effectively in writing.
      • Write coherently to support a central idea, using an appropriate format, with the correct grammar, usage, and mechanics expected of an IT professional.
    • Competency 3: Apply teamwork skills.
      • Describe the advantages of collaborating with multiple functional areas.
      • Describe the characteristics of effective virtual team members.
      • Explain strategies for effective communicating with virtual team members.
      • Describe strategies for effective communication between a virtual team and organizational leadership.
    • Competency 6: Analyze basic IT principles.
      • Analyze the use of synchronous technologies in virtual team collaboration.
      • Analyze the use of asynchronous technologies in virtual team collaboration.
      • Compare shared work platforms for effectiveness in virtual team collaboration.

  • Toggle Drawer ContextEmployers today are looking for IT graduates who can work in a global context and in virtual teams.Show LessMost organizations today, even smaller organizations, are expanding into the global marketplace. This means that employees are increasingly working with people in different countries and from different cultures. All coworkers are no longer necessarily located in the same building. A work team might include employees that are spread out across the country and the world. For example, it is not uncommon to have sales engineers in one country and actual engineers in another country. This remote collaboration presents new challenges and opportunities for organizational communication. It is important for the IT employee to develop the skills to effectively communicate and collaborate in this new reality.
  • Toggle Drawer Questions to ConsiderTo deepen your understanding, you are encouraged to consider the questions below and discuss them with a fellow learner, a work associate, an interested friend, or a member of the business community.Show More
    • If you were asked to select people to be part of a team to solve an IT problem within your organization, what types of team members would you choose? What would you look for in team members? Would you look for people in other functional areas?
    • What type of team member are you?

  • Assessment Instructions Read the following scenario carefully and refer to it as you complete this assessment, in which you write a plan for organizing and leading a virtual team.

Suppose you are an IT professional working for an established, medium-sized manufacturing corporation with 250 employees. Many of the employees work in the central home office, but a fair number are spread over several time zones in the United States and overseas. The corporation directly markets one unique product. The corporation is run by a new CEO and 11 other executives who have been with the organization for varying lengths of time.

The new CEO has an aggressive objective of 100 percent growth for the corporation over the next five years. You have been selected by the new CEO to head an IT team tasked with a growth objective of decreasing operating costs by 25 percent over the next five years.

You will be working with other functional areas, such as the executive team, sales and marketing, research and development, and production. The departments within these functional areas are geographically located in different time zones and countries. In addition to executive and mid-management personnel from each functional area, you need to choose 4 people from IT systems to participate on the team.

PreparationResearch the characteristics of effective virtual teams, strategies for leading virtual teams, and communication strategies for virtual teams. Explore the technologies that are currently available for virtual collaboration. As the IT professional in the assessment scenario, you will select four people from your own functional area (IT systems) to participate in a virtual team. To prepare for making this selection, investigate the characteristics of effective virtual team members.DirectionsWrite a plan for organizing and leading a virtual team, based on the assessment scenario. Note: You will not actually develop a plan to decrease operating costs for the CEO in the scenario. Address all of the following points:
    • Team Members: Select your team.
      • Identify the 4 functional areas of the organization that are best suited to help with this project. Explain why you have selected each one. Describe the benefits or advantages that a representative from each functional area will bring to the team and the project.
      • Identify the people from your own functional area (IT systems) that you will ask to be on this team. Identify the characteristics that will make them effective virtual team members.
    • Project Organization: Now that you have your team, how will you organize the project? Explain your plans for:
      • Ensuring that each team member understands the project objectives.
      • Setting expectations of each team member.
      • Delegating tasks. Will you ask for volunteers or assign tasks based on experience?
      • Resolving conflicts between team members.
      • Building trust between team members.
    • Technologies: Decide what technologies will best support the team's virtual collaboration.
      • Will you use synchronous or asynchronous communications technology? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each?
      • What type of shared work platform will be best for this project? Select a specific platform and explain your reasoning.
      • What strategies will you use to communicate the team's progress to the company's executive leadership?
    • Title page.
    • Introduction.
    • Body.
    • Conclusion.
    • References page: Support your choices and analyses with references and citations from at least 3 scholarly or professional resources. Follow APA formatting guidelines. Keep in mind that Wikipedia is not an appropriate resource.
    • Font style and size: Times New Roman, 12 point.
    • Length of paper: 4–5 double-spaced pages, excluding the title page and references page.
Additional RequirementsYour assessment paper must include all of the following elements: Organize your paper effectively. The following format is recommended:
    • Title page.
    • Introduction: Briefly summarize the problem and what you have been tasked to do.
    • Step 1 – Building the Team:
      • Describe the benefits and advantages of collaborating with the four functional areas you have chosen.
      • What are the characteristics of effective virtual team members? Describe what you will look for in the people you choose from IT.
    • Step 2 – Organizing the Project:
      • Explain the strategies you will use for communicating and making sure the project objectives are understood. Explain how you will ensure that each team member understands what you expect from him or her. Describe how tasks will be delegated, and how you will resolve conflicts and build trust between team members.
    • Step 3 – Choosing the Right Technology:
      • Analyze the use of both synchronous and asynchronous communication technologies to support virtual team collaboration. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each?
      • Identify the shared work platform that you will use and explain why you choose it. What does it offer that others do not?
      • Describe the communication strategies you will use to report the team's progress to executive leadership.
    • Conclusion: In addition to the standard conclusion content, highlight whether there are any unresolved questions and predict the team's chances of success.
