memory foam mattress off

i ordered a memory foam mattress off of the groupon site last week. once i received by coupon i had to call the mattress company directly to arrange for pick up or delivery. when speaking to the sales rep he told me that i would also have to pay the sales tax upon pickup or delivery. here`s the catch....i paid $264 for the mattress. however, the original price is around $1200 and he told me that i had to pay the taxes on the original price....not just on the $264 that i paid through groupon. sounds a little fishy to me. anyone know anything on this topic??? i`m trying to find a govt phone number to call and ask but no luck yet. i live in ontario where we have the hst
