Here are the general directions for a statistics project.
Instead of collecting original data you can also use existing data, called "secondary analysis of data."
For example, U.S. Census has data available, FedStats, and the World Data Bank, do some research.
For the variables you select include descriptive statistics for each one, and at least one inferential statistic (such as correlation, regression, ANOVA, etc) on them.
Note the Dr. Stockburger refers to SPSS which we do not use, you only have your calculator.
