Video Blog 6-1: Neo-Revolution
Â
Prompt
Although we do not always explicitly call it neo-evolution, humankind has been altering its biological evolution for thousands of years by manipulating our diet and developing tools and other technologies to enhance our abilities. The increasing sophistication and complexity of modern technology, however, may soon allow us to directly manipulate our evolution in extraordinary ways through techniques such as gene manipulation, bioengineering, and nanotechnology.
Â
In this third and final video blog, you will take a stand on neo-evolution. You are to analyze the implications of this form of technological research and development to determine whether or not you believe it to be the right direction for humans to pursue. Be sure to address both the positive and negative implications and draw a conclusion. The video blog should be 4 to 6 minutes in length. Support your analysis with evidence from the learning resources and be sure to address the following:
Â
1. Describe neo-evolution. What is it and what are its primary tenets?
2. Provide an example of a technology that is altering or may alter human evolution.
3. What are the potential benefits of this type of technology?
4. What are the potential drawbacks?
5. What are the moral and ethical implications of neo-evolution?
6. Should we continue to pursue this form of technology? Why or why not?

Your instructor will give you feedback.
Using your tool of choice, record your audio/video narration and your slides for the first section of your presentation. Your goal is a polished presentation.
Depending on the tool you choose, either submits the file in the assignment or copy and paste the URL (web address) of the online file location (many apps allow you to upload to YouTube, Vimeo, or other service).
For guidance on the primary requirements for the presentation, refer to the Final Project Guidelines and Rubric document in the Assignment Guidelines and Rubrics section of the course.
