The best way to chose a question is to look at your current clinical such as Emergency medicine or Medial surgery unit. What interests you? Your question must be important to nursing practice. If your question is out of the scope of nursing practice or does not relate to nursing practice, you will be asked to revise the PICO question. Use the link provided to the attachment to help you develop a PICO question. On pages 28-31 the PICO question is is explained in detail. There is a PICO worksheet on Table 2.1 in chapter 2. This will help you develop the PICO question for this course. You will use this PICO question and topic for the projects in this course (literature review, quantitative/qualitative research critique, and the evidence-based presentation power point). You can also look at the nursing core measures by Joint Commission. These are the national standards nursing must comply with. These are a great starting point if you are unsure of a topic. The core measure can be accessed at: https://www.jointcommission.org/core_measure_sets.aspx
