Comparison of Java and PHP
Java
Initially the proposal of the programming language Java was started as the project known as “Oak” in July 1991 by James and in simple terms Java can be considered a simple object oriented programming language. Sun Microsystems labs have created the initial project proposal of Java by James Gosling and programming architecture is almost similar to the traditional programming languages like C and C++. C can be considered as structural programming language where the usage of pointers is the highlight and also complex functionality over C. Later C++ was developed with the core logic of object oriented programming and has reduced the complexity of the structure programming language with the functions and methods introduced over. The core of Java programming language is taken from C++, Objective C, Mesa and Modula 3. Following are the key object oriented programming highlights and features of Java programming language
· Modularity based programming
· Encapsulation
· Exception handling
· Inheritance
· Polymorphism
· Type checking
· Garbage collection
· Abstraction
These object oriented programming feature makes the Java programming language simple and portable to inherit the complexity of the previous programming languages. Each and every artifact over java is considered as an object and an object has some properties and functionalities. Properties of the object can be inherited by another object and the related functionalities are also inherited in this context. Inheritance is the best feature available with java, where a parent object or class (instance of an object) can be created and the related features can be extended by the child objects or classes and this process is known as inheritance.
