8.      Planners of a proposed nuclear plant who are concerned about long-term sustainability of the plant seek to establish the relative weights of the sustainability evaluation criteria needed for selecting the best location for the plant. The planners believe that the new plant will have profound impacts in terms of spurring economic development, increasing employment, and degradation of the area’s sensitive ecology. As such, they intend to use the following evaluation criteria: economy, society, and the environment. The compar- ison matrix based on the decision-makers’ judgments is shown in Table 28.7.
