The RN approaches the new nurse manager regarding two of the unlicensed assistive personnel (UAPs) on the night shift who are not obtaining patient weights at the end of the shift or answering call lights promptly because they were busy on their cell phones checking Facebook. The nurse manager told the RN, “You are the professional, and it is important that you talk to the UAPs independently to resolve these concerns. Both of those staff members have worked here a long time and are kind to the residents.”
