INITIAL QUESTION:
Compare and contrast The Advancing Research and Clinical Practice through Close Collaboration Model (ARCC) and The Joanna Briggs Model. Which would you recommend in this situation and why?
Â
INITIAL ANSWER FROM COURSE HERO:
The first step involved in the ARCC model is assessing the organization culture and EBP readiness. The ARCC assessment helps in identifying the limitations and strength of implementing the EBP in the organization. Further, the ARCC provides a framework for program development aimed at making nurses EBP mentors, (Melynk, 2012). Additionally the model contends that greater EBP implementation leads to job satisfaction, good patient outcomes and low turnover rate.
The JBI model regards Evidence -Based -Health -Care to be a cyclical process, which relies on evidence. Therefore, to provide people working in health systems with world resources and information the JBI model considers the international evidence that is related to appropriateness, effectiveness and meaningfulness of interventions in the health care, (Pearson, Weeks & Stern, 2011). Like The ARCC model it also has programs that enable effective evidence implementation. Unlike, ARCC it does not assess the organization EBP readiness but provides evidence in systematic review.
In this situation I would recommend the use of ARCC because it does not only provide information but also assess the culture and organization readiness for EBP and develops programs for mentoring the nurses.

Thanks Christina for your comparison of ARCC and JBI. I am glad you mentioned strengths and limitations of models-ARCC-support of mentors and providing measures to support demonstrating patient outcomes. Secondly, it does not look at the organizations readiness. How would you use briefly and hypothetically results from an organizational EBP readiness survey?
