A battery has a measured voltage of 12.6 V when the circuit switch is open. The internal resistance of the battery is 0.25 Ω. The circuit contains resistors of 6.8, 13.7, and 625 n connected in parallel.

 

(a) Draw the circuit diagram.

(b) Calculate the equivalent circuit resistance as seen by the battery.

(c) Find the current flow through the battery when the switch is closed.

(d) Compute the current through the 6.8-!l resistor and the power consumed by it.

(e) Calculate the rate at which heat must be removed from the battery if it is to maintain a constant temperature.
