[Java] Question regarding inheritance
Â
Hi,
As I know of, we need to declare an object first to use a method from its parent class.
However, I just noticed that the program works just fine without declaring an object.
To be specific, here'e a sample code
Â
This is my understanding
public class child extends parent
{
Chips layers = new Chips();
layers.eat(); //eat is inherited from its parent class
}
Â
But I just noticed that the below won't cause any error
public class child extends parent
{
eat();
}
would they work just the same?
if so, why instructors teach us to declare an object? Is that a better codding somehow?
