This is my child-development psychology paper.
It should be 3-4 pages and need spss or excel file based on observation! please help me
Â
Look over the six questions listed below before beginning to collect observations. Find a place where parents and children interact together and go
undercover! you should follow and answer six questions listed below. Â Shopping malls (kids' clothing stores, children's section of a book store, or a
toy section), fast-food restaurants, and grocery store lines are good places. You may discover some others as well. Pretend that you are shopping for something for a child in your family, or pretend to be doing something else while you observe, such as reading the paper or studying. You should not interact with any of the parents or children you observe. For example, you might try to find something palatable to eat at MacDonald's as your "cover" and sit near a family with small children (ages 2-7). Make sure you are close enough to hear what is being said. As you eat, pretend to be studying a textbook and taking notes. But what you are actually doing is taking notes on the family interaction. In this way, you can observe without seeming to observe. Do not look up or stare at the family. Try to use what you hear and look only as often as might be the case in a natural setting. Often you will only see 10-20 seconds of interaction, because it would be odd for you to linger and stare for longer. If you observe long enough, you will be amazed by the variety of parenting behavior that is right out there in public to observe!
Answer the following questions.
1. What types of behavior did the children engage in that required some type of discipline
from their parents? What types of behaviors and discipline did you observe most often?
(Please refer to PSDQ coding key). Describe or provide concrete examples.
2. Did you see any other types of discipline that didn't fit the PSDQ scoring key? Explain
and refer to examples.
3. What type of discipline was most effective? Describe or provide concrete examples.
4. Were there differences in the types of discipline used by mothers vs. fathers? Describe
examples.
5. Did sons vs. daughters appear to receive different forms of discipline? Explain and
refer to examples.
6. Did the age of the child appear to influence the type of discipline received? Explain
and refer to examples.
