Derive an expression for the torque of the 2-pole reluctance motor shown in Figure. Assume that (a) all the reluctance of the magnetic circuit is in the air-gap, and (b) the effective area of each gap is equal to the area of the overlap. Calculate the torque when the 100-turn coil carries 2 A, the diameter of the rotor is 15 cm, the length of the motor is 10 cm, the dis- placement angle is 30°, and the air-gap length is 2 mm.
