Google and Distribution

Google, not surprisingly, has intense demands when it comes to data storage and is therefore at the forefront of database technology. From performance to availability to security, Google considers it all. One of the biggest costs Google has is the money spent storing, powering, and maintaining their extensive data centers. Data has to be stored with redundancy and global distribution considerations.
