An introduction to the History of Psychology

Question #1: For those of you familiar with behavioral and cognitive behavioral therapy, describe how some of these early philosophies are related to these psychological therapy modalities.

Note: A link will be provided as an example for question #1 (the link will be just an example of this question) for you  to have an idea. You must read the book (Chapter 5) and you can also provide additional sources but you must cite any word that is not yours and provide all references used. (3 paragraphs for this question). Book: Hergenhahn, B.R.(2009). An introduction to the History of Psychology (7th Edition). Thompson/Wadsworth, CA: Belmont.

Question#2:There are two concepts in this section on Locke.  The first is his disagreement with Descartes, that we are born with innate ideas.  The second is that all emotions stem from either pain or pleasure.  There may still be some debate about these concepts today.  Pick one side of the arguement about innate ideas and give your reasoning for it.  Also argue for or against the existence of only two emotions.

Note: Please read the book and if you want additional sources too. (3 paragraphs for this questions are required ) Book: Hergenhahn, B.R.(2009). An introduction to the History of Psychology (7th Edition). Thompson/Wadsworth, CA: Belmont.

Question#3: In the section on Renaissance Humanism, Erasmus and Luther contributions to Protestantism are discussed.  How might their disagreement about Free Will play out in a more modern approach in psychology? Watch this video and make an argument for or against free will.  Remember there is no right or wrong answer.

Note: This third question has a video you must watch to include you notes about it. The same book and (3 paragraphs) as well. Please provide all your references at the end and enumerate your questions. The video is just for question #3. Book: Hergenhahn, B.R.(2009). An introduction to the History of Psychology (7th Edition). Thompson/Wadsworth, CA: Belmont.
