Central Limit Theorem

22.   Suppose the distribution of the time X (in hours) spent by students at a certain university on a partic- ular project is gamma with parameters a = 50 and b = 2. Because a is large, it can be shown that X has approximately a normal distribution. Use this fact to compute the probability that a randomly selected student spends at most 125 hours on the project.

23.   The Central Limit Theorem says that X is approxi- mately  normal  if  the  sample  size  is  large.  More speci  cally, the theorem states that the standardized X has a limiting standard normal distribution. That is, 1X - m 2 / 1s/ 1n 2 has a distribution approaching the standard normal. Can you reconcile this with the Law  of  Large  Numbers?  If  the  standardized  X  is approximately standard normal, then what about X itself?
