companion website

For this exercise, use the UCDavis2 dataset on the companion website. The variable Cheat contains answers to a question about whether or not the respondent would tell the instructor if he or she saw another student cheating on an examination.

a. Create a two-way table for the relationship between Sex (male or female) and the variable Cheat. Of all students, what percentage said that they would tell the instructor about witnessing cheating?

b. Of the females, what percentage said that they would tell the instructor about witnessing cheating? What percentage of the males said that they would do this?

c. Is the observed relationship between sex and response to the cheating question statistically significant? Justify your answer by reporting the results of a chi-square test.

d. For this question about cheating, what population do you think is represented by the students in the dataset?
