What is the power requirement of each machine? How much power is dissipated by the transmission line?

 

A 1732-V, 60-Hz, Y-connected, three-phase source delivers power via a transmission line to two machines connected in parallel. The impedance per line is 0.5 + j5 ohm . One machine can be represented by an equivalent Del-connected per-phase impedance of 150 + j450 ohm. The other machine is Y- connected and has a per-phase impedance of 40 - j320 ohm. Compute the power supplied by the source. What is the power requirement of each machine? How much power is dissipated by the transmission line?
