Resource leveling

Resource leveling. The activities in Exercise 8.2 require the resources shown in the table.

a. Show the modified bar chart for Exercise 8.2 and list the number of resources of each type required on each work-day.

b. Resources A and B are such that the maximum number of each resource needed on any day must be paid throughout the project (whether needed or not). Shift the activities and interrupt activities where necessary to minimize the number of resource units of A and B constantly employed. Give first priority to resource A. Assume that all activities can he interrupted. How many units of each resource will be constantly employed? (Note: Do not attempt to minimize the sum of squared deviations).

Exercise 8.2

Activity schedule and modified bar chart. Using the forward pass/backward pass technique derive the activity schedule and modified bar chart for the arrow diagram shown. What is the critical part? Project duration?
