A large stationary Brayton cycle gas-turbine power plant delivers a power output of 100 000 hp to an electric generator. The minimum temperature in the cycle is 540 R, and the exhaust temperature is 1350 R. The minimum pressure in the cycle is 1 atm, and the compressor pressure ratio is 14:1. Calculate the power output of the turbine, the fraction of the turbine output required to drive the compressor, and the thermal efficiency of the cycle.
