The delay in solving a network fault has negative impact on the network. An interesting idea (Gupta. and Prabhat, 2016) is to predict network faults so providing quick faults detection, thus providing network administrators to take an appropriate preventive action. This ideas is based on collecting and analyzing past behavior of a network and then creating spatial and temporal patterns of correlated events, thus providing an early warning system for network faults.
Â
Lets critically discuss this idea in terms of applicability, required techniques, pro and cons?
