1. Air inside a rigid tank is heated from 300 to 350 K. Find the entropy increase s2 − s1. What is the entropy increase if the tank is heated from 1300 to 1350 K?

2. A rigid tank contains 1 kg methane at 500 K, 1500 kPa. It is now cooled down to 300 K. Find the heat transfer and the change in entropy using ideal gas.

3. Three kilograms of air is in a piston/cylinder keeping constant pressure at 27◦C, 300 kPa. It is now heated to 500 K. Plot the process path in a T–s diagram and find the heat transfer in the process.
