Sensory Adaptation Sensory adaptation occurs when a stimulus is repeatedly presented until the sensation is no longer noticeable. When you frst jump into a cold pool on a hot summer day, your touch receptors immediately notice the colder temperature. However, as you continue to swim, your receptors adjust to the change in temperature that is repeatedly presented to your body, and the water no longer Feels cold to you. Provide a similar example oF sensory adaptation other than the one described in the lesson For this module and discuss its cause and e±ects.
