Facebook at Penn State. The Pennsylvania State University has its main campus in University Park and more than 20 smaller “commonwealth campuses” around the state. The Penn State Division of Student Affairs polled a random sample of undergraduates about their use of online social networking. (The response rate was only about 20%, which casts some doubt on the usefulness of the data.) Facebook was the most popular site, with more than 80% of students having an account. Here is a comparison of Facebook use by undergraduates at the University Park and commonwealth campuses:2

(a) What percent of University Park students fall in each Facebook category? What percent of commonwealth campus students fall in each category? Each column should add to 100% (up to roundoff error). These are the conditional distributions of Facebook use given campus setting.
(b) Make a bar graph that compares the two conditional distributions. What are the most important differences in Facebook use between the two campus settings?
