Granny Joan's Cookies being sure to follow the specifications carefully.

Needing help with this assignment, needing to get an high A to pass the class.

Granny Joan's Cookies

  1. Read the assignment carefully
  2. Create your tables, being sure to follow the specifications carefully. You will be asked to change the field lengths and requirements. These can be found in the properties below the table. For example, you'll set up a number field, but it will be a long integer. You'll also set up several required fields. Mark required as "Yes" for these.
  3.  Import the data found in Doc Sharing. It's called GrannyJoanData4. Be sure to append the worksheets to the correct tables. Instead of appending the data for tblCheckOut, simply import that worksheet into a new table. There have been some issues with the different versions of Access.
  4.  Set up Relationships. Database Tools, relationships. You'll need the following:tblCookie CatID to tblCategory CatID. All relationships are one to many. This identifies the Category for the cookies.
  5. CookieName in tblCookie to CookieID in tbl Checkout. This identifies which Cookie has been sold in tblCheckout.
  6. CheckOutID in tblCheckout to RefNo in tblSales. This shows which cookies that have been checked out and have been sold.
  7. SellerID in tblCheckout to SellerID in tblSeller. This identifies the seller's name, etc.
  8. SellerID in tblSeller to SellerID in tblSales.
  9. Create the Seller Form and Cookie Form.
  10. The Checkout Form and Sales Form required subforms. For how to see here:  Forms and Subforms
  11. Perform the queries on page 124. Review Queries,  Calculated Fields,  Query for Number 4,  Query for Number 5
  12. Selling Price is calculated by multiplying Our Cost by 2.
  13. When you need a date in the criteria, enclose it in hash tags: #9/27/2008#
  14. When selecting for Gift Baskets, use this in the criteria line: Like "GS*". It means you want Category Id that begins with GS with any characters following. The * is a wildcard.
  15. For the remaining cookies query, edit the relationship between tblCheckout and tblSales. We only want to see who has sold cookies, so right click on the join and select number 2. Then complete the query.
  16. For this exercise only, you DO NOT need to do the Test Your Design activities. After you finish on the Queries on page 124, you're done.
  17. Submit to the GrannyJoan drop box.
