Introduction

For this discussion, you will review a case study on Windows Operating Systems. After reading and reviewing the case study, you will image being an IT Administrator for a medium sized organization. Part of your responsibilities as the IT Administrator is to ensure the technology works continually and seamlessly. Although some of the organization’s computers use Windows 10, the remaining computers run on Windows 7 and Windows 8. As the IT Professional in the organization, you feel there is a need to update all of the computers to Windows 10. Your goal is to convince the CEO that all of the organization’s computers run on Windows 10.

Instructions:

Review the following case study: Windows Operating System Case Study

Discussion Responses:

The CEO has asked you to compile answer to the below questions:

  • What are the major differences and similarities between Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10?
  • What are the advantages of upgrading to Windows 10?
  • How will the organization benefit by updating to Windows 10?
  • Why should this company spend money to upgrade at this time?

Respond to at least two of your classmates' posts. Be sure to respond to posts’ made to your initial response. One feature may be an advantage to one student, but a disadvantage to another. When you reply to other students, play the role of “devil’s advocate” (from the positon of the CEO) and ask challenging “why” questions.
