  1. Create your schema using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Access, or OpenOffice Writer. Name your file star_schema. Check with your instructor for approval before using any other application for this assignment.
  2. Here is an example of how your solution should look if you are you using these specific tools: Word, PowerPoint, Access, Writer. This example is for a sales data warehouse and is for demonstration of the assignment format only. Your assignment is not for a sales data warehouse and will not necessarily have table content like these. You can also draw your star schema diagram on a piece of paper, scan it, and submit the file with the scanned image. Your image must be readable and clear if you draw it by hand. 
  3. You cannot underline primary keys or italicize foreign keys if you use Microsoft Access for this assignment. Instead set up the database relationships window in Access to show the star schema. It is this window that displays the schema necessary for this assignment. This will require you to create tables in Access but you do not need to add any data to these tables. Here is a sample showing the primary keys and foreign keys in Access.
