concept of connecting the things to internet was bit old

Internet of Things (IoT) has been buzzing around the tech world since few years though the core concept of connecting the things to internet was bit old. It is relatively easy to connect your Smart TV, AC, Fridge, Philips Hue bulbs to internet and control them from your app as beautifully portrayed in the commercials & by the Cisco, Intel, IBM & co IoT consortiums.What you think?
