lt has been reported that women end up unhappier than men later in life, even though they start out happier (Yahoo News, August 1, 2008). Early in life, women are more likely to fulfill their family life and financial aspirations, leading to greater overall happiness. However, men report a higher satisfaction with their financial situation and family life, and are thus happier than women in later life. Suppose the results of the survey of 300 men and 300 women are presented in the following table.
