In the production of ethanol from corn, the solids left after fermentation are dried in a continuous-flow oven. This process generates a flow of 35 lbm/s moist air, 200 F with 70% relative humidity, which contains some volatile organic compounds and some particles. To remove the organic gases and the particles, the flow is sent to a thermal oxidizer (see Fig.P11.82), where natural gas flames bring the mixture to 1500 F. Find the rate of heating by the natural gas burners.
