The rocket shown in Fig. P5.64, is held stationary by the horizontal force, Fx, and the vertical force, Fz. The velocity and pressure of the exhaust gas are 5000 ft/s and 20 psia at the nozzle exit, which has a cross section area of 60 in.2 . The exhaust mass flowrate is constant at 21 lbm/s. Determine the value of the restraining force Fx. Assume the exhaust flow is essentially horizontal.
