. Jacobson’s congestion

1. Analyze the advantages and disadvantages of performing congestion control at the transport layer, rather than at the network layer.

2. Jacobson’s congestion control algorithm assumes most packet losses are caused by routers dropping packets due to network congestion. However, packets may be also dropped if they are corrupted in their path to destination. Analyze the performance of TCP in a such lossy environment, due to Jacobson’s congestion control algorithm.
