umerical value of the correlation

Consider the following data for a simple linear regression problem. The sample size was n = 20 and when H0: β1 = 0 was tested against Ha: β ≠ 0, it was found that the value of the test statistic was positive and was equal to the critical (tabular) value.

(a) What is the numerical value of the correlation coefficient, assuming that X is a random variable?

(b) What does your answer to part (a) suggest about relying on the outcome of the hypothesis test given in this exercise for determining whether or not the regression equation has predictive value?
