manufacturing processes

A company believes it has corrected a problem with one of its manufacturing processes and a team that worked to correct the problem decides to collect some data to test the belief. Specifically, the team decides to compare the results for the week before the correction with data they will collect during the week after the correction. The team collects that data and the results are summarized in the following table:

(a) Could a contingency table approach be used to analyze the data? Why or why not?

(b) If so, will the results agree with a test of the hypothesis of two equal proportions, using methodology given in Chapter 6? Explain.

(c) Perform a contingency table analysis, if feasible.

(d) Would it be possible to use Fisher’s exact test? Why or why not?
