Wiggly Piggly Grocery Company


The Wiggly Piggly Grocery Company owns and operates numerous grocery stores throughout the state of Florida. It is developing plans to consolidate warehouse operations so that there will be 3 different warehouses that supply stores in 10 different regions of the state. The company plans to sell all its existing warehouses and build new, state-of-the-art warehouses. Each warehouse can supply multiple regions; however, all stores in a particular region will be assigned to only 1 warehouse. The locations of the different regions are summarized in the following table.

 

a. Create a spreadsheet model to determine approximately where Wiggly Piggly should locate its new warehouses and which regions should be assigned to each of the new warehouses.
