A partially transparent covering is placed over the square cavity as shown in Figure P8-176. The inside temperature of the cavity can be varied from 350 to 500 K, and the assembly exchanges heat with a large room at 300 K. Suppose it is possible to fabricate the covering material such that a variable transmissivity can be tailored to produce a constant net radiant exchange between the assembly and room for the temperature range indicated. Perform an appropriate analysis to design a suitable set of radiation properties for the covering material. Be sure to state clearly all assumptions.
