variable manufacturing

  • Looking for help finding the predetermined overhead rate.
  • I have 25,000 total estimated manufacturing overhead
  • 4000 estimated total machine hours used.
  • Estimated variable manufacturing overhead: 1.40 (Molding) 2.20 (Fabrication)
  • Direct materials for job P 13,000 Job Q 8,000
  • Direct labor Job 1 21,000 Job 2 7,500

 

I have no clue what to do because I thought the formula for it would be Y=a/b+x or 25,000/ (4000 + 3.60) am I using the wrong numbers in my equation or just totally have everything wrong? Do I not add the variable overheads together? I have tried many different ways to try and figure this out but im just stuck. Its most likely very simple and im just not getting it.

 

Any help would be appreciated.
