CO1 The entry level principal knows how to implement communication strategies in setting high expectations for relationships with internal and external stakeholders as partners supporting student learning.

 

W1LO1 -The student will gather the tools and the contextual background necessary to frame, analyze, and creatively resolve a simulated campus problem using effective problem-solving techniques to make high quality decisions.

 

W1L03 – The student will develop and implement strategies for effective internal and external communications. (Communication Plan)

 

W1L04 – The student will communicate messages in different ways to meet the needs of various audiences. (Communication Plan)

 

One aspect of your role as a campus leader will be to provide supportive feedback to your faculty and staff in a variety of settings. As a leader it is important to understand that providing effective feedback can be an essential part of a person’s learning and growth. You should reflect on why you are giving the feedback. Are you trying to improve a situation or a person’s performance? Your approach to feedback should be positive and focused on improvement.

Wiggins (2012) suggested that to be effective, feedback should be specific and personalized as well as actionable and timely. When providing feedback you are offering valuable information that should be useful to another person. In your feedback, your specific advice should be relevant, immediate and clearly actionable.
