A hollow cylindrical drum of internal diameter 250 mm is completely filled with an oil of relative density 0.9. At the centre of the upper face is a small hole open to atmosphere. The drum is rotated at 15 revolutions per second about its axis (which is vertical). Determine the pressure of the oil at the circumference of the drum and the net thrust on the upper circular face when steady conditions have been attained.
