Count the number of different samples by using combinatorial mathematics

Suppose you wish to sample n = 3 elements from a total of N = 600 elements

a. Count the number of different samples by using combinatorial mathematics (see Section 3.1).

b. If random sampling is to be employed, what is the probability that any particular sample will be selected?

c. Show how to use the random number table, Table I In Appendix B, to select a random sample of 3 elements from a population of 600 elements. Perform the sampling procedure 20 times. Do any two of the samples contain the same three elements? Given your answer to part b, did you expect repeated samples'?
