The board of JH Ltd has become aware that there is no IT strategy in place within the company. A decision has therefore been made to establish a working group to produce an outline IT strategy. The group members are: Senior manager. He does not have much knowledge of IT because he has avoided IT in general as he sees it as not providing him with any benefits for his particular job. He is actually quite fearful of IT. He is very task-oriented and

dislikes wasting time on non-essential work. He is very good at producing overall policy directives. IT professional. She has an excellent knowledge of mainframe computers and enjoys being in charge of a large IT department. Her knowledge has arisen from 20 years in computing. She has tended to ignore the recent shift towards end-user computing, believing that IT is best handled by specialists. Although she has some knowledge of PCs, this is not complete. She has very little contact with the users of the information that the IT department produces. She believes that users should accept the information given and not make difficult demands on the department. IT user – trainee accountant.
