Maxima plc: background information Maxima plc is a multinational telecommunications company. Its head office is in London. It is organised as a divisionalised company with divisions in three areas – the European Union ( EU ), the Pacific Rim, and North America (this includes Canada and the USA).
Internal computer department Maxima plc has an internal computer department ( ICD) which owns various appliances. ICD defines an appliance as any personal computer, terminal, printer or fax. It currently has 60,000 appliances. ICD supplies the appliances to all users in Maxima plc. The users are not allowed to have appliances supplied by anyone other than ICD. ICD is also responsible for servicing the appliances. The geographical distribution of the appliances is as follows: 60 per cent of the appliances are in the EU, 30 per cent in the Pacific Rim and 10 per cent in North America.
