Relational Database Design             

• A) Given the following business rules, identify entity types, attributes (at least two attributes for each entity, including the primary key) and relationships, and then draw an Entity-Relationship Diagram with 1) Entity types, 2) relationship types, 3) keys, 4) cardinality and 5) participation.

The following business rules are given:

• 1. Each tenant can submit any number of complaints and each complaint is sent by one or more tenants.
• 2. Each management company handles one or more buildings; and each building is managed by one and only one management company.
• 3. Each tenant resides in one building; and each building may be the resident of one or more tenants.

• B) Optimize the relationships using Associative Entity.
• C) Transform  the ERD into Relations and apply referential integrity constraints.
• I provided a word document showing the types of rules and diagrams needed.

All homework assignments must be printed (double-sided). Hand-written homework will not be
accepted. All contents of the printouts must be in 12-point font size. Homework must be
turned in at the beginning of class on the due date.
