Operations Management techniques

Select two Operations Management techniques from the given list, each supported by a relevant case study, explain how they can help companies improve their business activities and operation efficiency.

The OM techniques you can choose from:

1) Benchmarking, 2)Forecasting,3) Capacity planning,4) Supply Chain Management,

5)Inventory management (may include MRP, but not ERP), 6) Scheduling, 7) Waiting line models

Case studies must be related to the following industries:

1. Manufacturing (e.g. cars, TVs, food, electronics, computers etc.)

2. Public sectors (e.g. health, government, education etc.)

3. Service (e.g. finance, hospitality, tourism, retail etc.)

Write a separate section for each case study. Each section should include the following discussions:

1. Write a summary of the case study.

2. Discuss the problems they had before implementing that OM technique.

3. Provide some details how they applied the technique, and what benefits they experience after adopting the technique.

4. It will be useful to show some measurable evidence of the results if data is available in the case study. You may also discuss the steps they took during the implementation.

5. Criticise, in your own opinion, what the company should/could do (based on the case study) in order to improve their results.

. All referenced materials must be cited correctly in Harvard style. The assignment should be around 4200 words (around 11-13 pages), excluding diagrams, charts or appendix.Select two Operations Management techniques from the given list, each supported by a relevant case study, explain how they can help companies improve their business activities and operation efficiency.
