What stresses will be produced in a steel bolt and a copper tube (see figure) by a quarter turn of the nut if the length of the tube is L = 500 mm, the pitch of the threads is p = 3 mm, the area of the cross section of the bolt is As = 650 mm2 , and the area of the cross section of the tube is Ae = 1300 mm2 ? (Assume Es = 200 GPa and Ee = 110 GPa.) (Note: The pitch of the threads is the same as the distance advanced by the nut in one complete turn.)
