A Health educator has a few main duties that are related to promotion of health and wellness and the prevention of disease and illness through education. The majority of the health education specialists work in educational environments, health departments, as well as nor-for –profit community health facilities as well as medical facilities.  Community health educators in a community my provide education through printed materials to the public, lectures to the public, as well as organize and follow through of health screenings. Working in medical facilities would provide the opportunity to also educate patients about prevention of diseases, and improve their health.Â
The primary responsibility of health care managers is to foster an environment that can provide necessary and quality health care at maximum profit. (Locsin, 2012) They determine budgets, order and receive supplies, administer payroll and benefits, and distribute regular communications (Locsin, 2012). They keep up with relevant health care laws, technology and standards, and represent their organizations at external meetings, such as community forums and investor gatherings (Locsin, 2012). To determine health care needs and how medical decisions affect the procedures and finances of their facilities, managers conduct regular meetings with doctors, vendors and patients (Locsin, 2012).
          Â
The primary link that are between the two in my opinion are the idea that they both foster and develop a plan to promote healthcare awareness within an individual. They both try and assist in the promotion of wellbeing within an individual, and give them a plan to help disease, as well as illness prevention. I have worked in the field of health education and promotion, when I worked in the MS, clinic for the research department. We were in the process of investigating if steroids, were a benefit, to a patient all the time or if it was just as beneficial to them in times of a flair up. I was responsible in teaching the patients of identifying a flair-up, and how to react, and what to do in order for us to maintain the accuracy of the information we were gathering and reporting. I had to educate the patients on how to avoid a flair up if it could be avoided.Â
